Milwaukee Electric Tool M12 Ratchet
Year:
2010
Role:
ID intern
Company:
Milwaukee Tool
The Problem:
Milwaukee Electric Tool wanted to use their existing battery and motor technology to create a new product that can compete with pneumatic tools for use in the automotive industry.
The Research:
What I did:
As an Industrial Design intern during the summer of 2010, I studied Milwaukee Tool’s visual brand language to bring the same feeling that you would find on a drill to the new ratchet. I met with the engineering and marketing teams and with senior designer colleagues, I was able to help lead in the creation of a new product.
The Solution:
After working with marketing to identify a target market, sketches were done in conjunction with the engineering team to identify elements such as human factors and size limits.
